First Mustang Convertible Built! First Mustang Sold!

January 14th, 2009

1964 Ford Mustang Convertible You can be the proud owner of the rarest 1964 ½ Ford Mustang Convertible ever build on the first day of the retail production. This 1964 Ford Mustang Convertible was also the first car sold to the public. Prior to regular factory retail Mustang production, approximately 185-200 pre- production units were manufactured. This car will be going on auction and you will need to have deep pockets because the bidding start at $5.5 Million.

This car was on display as The Featured Mustang in Towe Museum in California for almost 10 years. Director Emeritus William Clay Ford used this 1964 Ford Mustang Convertible for his granddaughter’s wedding in 2006. His granddaughter and her husband drove away in this vehicle after the wedding ceremony.

Documents include but are not limited to: A) Ford Registered Owner’s Plan Card (warranty card) B) Owner’s manual C) Internal Bill of Sale D) Window Sticker E) Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin F) A copy of every title and owner history

This unique car had a complete restoration done in 1983. But it looks nearly as fresh as the day it rolled out of the restoration shop.
