Truly legendary. The first Ford 'Bullitt' Mustang released was the 2001 model. A numbered, limited edition car, it sparked a whole generation of collectors. Not only those that were already into the classics, but a new group that wanted the power and prestige of the muscle cars, with the creature comforts of contemporary styling. So much so, that a new registry emerged: International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club (IMBOC).

Being a huge Mustang and car chase movie enthusiast, the launch of the car and IMBOC also inspired my husband, automotive artist Michael Irvine, to create the first of two Bullitt tribute paintings ("New to the Chase" and "The Legend Lives On"). Both feature the new cars added to a scene from the movie ... very cool!

With Ford's "Bullitt tribute" success, only time will tell if they'll do it again with a third installment! - I hope so!
