Ford Mustang Bullitt

In november 2007 Ford introduced the Ford Mustang Bullitt at the Los Angeles motorshow. Where does the name Bullitt come from? The movie enthousiasts among us already know it. Bullitt was an in 1968 produced movie in which movielegend Steve McQueen played. This car was produced in memorial of that movie.

The dark green edition has a 4.6 liter engine which produces 315 hp. This was 15 hp more than the standard Mustang in 2007. Ford adjusted the chassis, the suspension and the brakes for the Bullitt. Furthermore the front of the car has no logo’s and the exhaust was tuned to produce the sound of the Mustang which we know from the movie.

The Shelby Ford Mustang GT500 itself is an awesome car, but with the Shelby Super Snake Prudhomme Drag Race Edition the tuner really did his very best to build an even more awesome one. Where does the name Snake Prudhomme come from? Well, Don ‘The Snake’ Prudhomme was a legendary drag racer. This Mustang is a hymn to him. We are happy to hear that Shelby gave the Mustang lots of extra power. The Mustang Shelby Prudhomme Drag Race Edition has 750 hp. If you use racing fuel it even has 800hp. Along with the extra power Shelby delivers adjustable shockabsorbers, special  tyres for the dragstrip and an exhaust system with exhaust pipe at the side of the car. It is a limited edition. In 2005 Ford introduced this Mustang Convertible. Two types were produced, the V6 and the GT. The 4-litre V6 delivered 202hp, the GT 4.6 litre V8 engine 300hp and accelerated from 0 – 60mph in just 5.6 seconds. The soundengineers did their very best and gave the V8 an awesome sound. Another nice feature is the adjustable dashboardlight in 125 colour  variations.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

The Shelby GT500 of the renewed mustang is ready. This mighty machine has lots of extra power. The V8 compressor has 540 hp. A modified look, an improved gearbox and an impressive increase of power the Shelby GT500 can compete with the Chevrolet Camaro which will appear in the showrooms at the same time. The V8 compressor in the last Shelby had 500 hp. Several improvements have been made to the Shelby GT500. The clutch plates of the 6-speed manual transmission are stronger. The engine delivers 700 Nm and the soundenigineers gave some extra attention to the supercharged 8-cylinder. With white stripes on the roof and 19-inch wheels the coupé looks awesome. Due to the Ambient Lightning System the driver can create it’s own interior choosing from 7 different colors. The first Shelby GT500’s will be delivered during spring this year.

 This car was on display as The Featured Mustang in Towe Museum in California for almost 10 years. Director Emeritus William Clay Ford used this 1964 Ford Mustang Convertible for his granddaughter’s wedding in 2006. His granddaughter and her husband drove away in this vehicle after the wedding ceremony.

 This unique car had a complete restoration done in 1983. But it looks nearly as fresh as the day it rolled out of the restoration shop.

We found some pictures for the new Ford Mustang Cobra Jet what will go in production now. This is one of the coolest factory build drag racer. This is not a road legal car so you cannot enjoy the speed on a normal road, but some people are lucky and can drive this race racer and enjoy all the great features.

The Cobra Jet did get an upgraded 5.4-liter V8 with a cold air intake, A/C delete, 9-inch rear end, a six speed manual or three speed auto with custom shifter, a roll hoop, gauges, a specialized suspension and huge drag slicks, but it also gets a VIN starting with the car’s name.

Some technical details : The Shelby GT500’s supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter dual overhead cam V8 engine is expected to produce 540 horsepower and 510 foot-pounds of torque, both more than the outgoing model. There is a six-speed manual transmission what has a twin-disc clutch that Ford says improves driveability and noise, vibration and harshness.
